Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu, an international icon for peace and justice, was born in the beautiful city of Matlosana (Klerksdorp), and it is here that the Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu, Commemorative Birth Village, will be erected.
This will be a memorial, not only to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, but to The Diocese of Matlosane, the City of Matlosana, and to South Africa - Host Country for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. SOUTH AFRICA IS READY FOR 2010.

An outstanding Leader in the Anglican Christian Community. A Nobel Prize winner for his activities in the struggle against Apartheid in South Africa. Like Barack Obama, he is dedicated to World Peace, and seeks to bring a strong feeling of humanity to all people. His total life has been devoted to seeking justice for those who are less able to help themselves. Desmond Tutu is truly one oj the most inspiring leaders of our time.
He is also a member of the committee that secured the 2010 FIFA World Cup for South Africa.
